His owners might be spooked by LeGarrette Blount ’s three-TD outburst in Week 3, but Lewis is still a key all-purpose cog in the Pats machine. Matt Jones, Redskins at Falcons (Brad Pinkerton)....

Because of the lack of serious injuries this week (we were due), there aren’t many potential free agents who jump out, but it’s worth revisiting the “handcuff” theme when putting together your waiver claims. Running backs like Jay Ajayi and Tevin Coleman should be scooped up now if you’re through your bye weeks and have an open roster spot or two. Also, you’ll want to handcuff your starting QB with a high-ceiling backup like the improving Kirk Cousins....

Last week’s list definitely had some hits. Derek Carr continues to play well and boost his ownership. Kalen Ballage got all the work in the world (and yes, we know he’s inefficient). Hunter Renfrow and O.J. Howard both had solid games. Mike Gesicki and Ross Dwelley both saw increased roles continue. And we’ve been writing about Auden Tate and Tre’Quan Smith for much of the year, so if you read the watch list earlier in the season, maybe you’re already aware of them....

Last week’s list had some other success stories, too – Gardner Minshew saw his ownership rise again, just as it has in each week since he’s been starting, thanks to a strong Thursday Night Football performance. Ronald Jones had a solid game, got picked up some places, but gets a spot on the list again because he still might not be owned enough. We might’ve been the only place to tout Taylor Gabriel ahead of his three-TD Monday Night Football performance....

Of course, the process of doing this isn’t exact. You could pick up a player intent on starting them in Week 9 only to see them get hurt in Week 8. They may even getting traded or have a game postponed. But as long as you have one revolving door roster spot or a player that you have no intention of playing this week, you can look ahead and add a potential starter for next week....

There are only a handful of legitimate TE and D/ST streamers on our full free agent list (more good D/STs than TEs), but they might actually be the most important “players” on the list. You should be set at QB, RB, and WR, but you can always mix-and-match at defense and tight end. And here’s how you could lose in fantasy in Week 16. Chances are, both Snead and Martin are being stashed on someone’s roster in your league, but suspended players like that can slip through the cracks, so it’s worth checking to see if they’re available. The same goes for players who have been injured to start the year, like the Chargers’ Mike Williams and Indianapolis’ Andrew Luck. The best pickups this week might wind up being handcuff stashes (Branden Oliver, D’Onta Foreman, Elijah McGuire) or D/ST streamers (Bengals, who get Vontaze Burfict back from suspension), which, again, speaks to the lack of star power on the wire....

Even after a bye, some things just never change for tight ends. The Giants gave up a touchdown to Tyler Higbee to continue their streak of allowing a TD to TEs each week. This week, George Kittle takes his turn against the Giants, and other sleepers like A.J. Derby (vs. Patriots), Tyler Kroft (vs. Titans) and O.J. Howard (vs. Jets) have good matchups. If you’re really feeling bold, pick Darren Fells against a Browns team allowing an average of 10-plus fantasy points per game (FPPG) to TEs....

In Week 3, Matt Bryant nabs the top spot, playing in a dome against a Lions defense known to give up points. The favorable matchups for Stephen Gostkowski, Greg Zuerlein, and Graham Gano could lead to big games from their teams, giving them more chances to score points. Quick reminder, the Ravens and Jaguars play in London this week, so be sure to check your lineup before their 9:30 a....
