The Chiefs’ stud racked up 1,287 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on a modest 259 carries last season, averaging 5.0 yards a pop. But he also added 70 receptions for 693 yards, both career highs, and scored seven more times through the air. Charles’ versatility is what gives him the edge as the No. 1 fantasy back entering 2014. He’s the perfect fit for coach Andy Reid’s scheme, which favors pass-catching backs like Charles (see LeSean McCoy from 2009-12)....

As always, injuries will have a big impact on some of this week’s start ’em, sit ’em decisions. Kenny Golladay (hamstring), James Conner (ankle), Miles Sanders (hamstring), Phillip Lindsay (toe), Courtland Sutton (shoulder), Le’Veon Bell (hamstring), Chris Godwin (head), Michael Thomas (ankle), and George Kittle (knee) are the biggest worries right now, but there will likely be more “questionable” players popping up as we get closer to the kickoff. WEEK 2 STANDARD RANKINGS:Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker...

The important parts of the deals, at least for fantasy owners, are Watkins going to the Rams and Matthews going to Buffalo. Because the Rams and the Bills have new offensive schemes this year, it’s tough to really evaluate how these receivers will fare in their new homes, but obviously that’s not going to stop us from trying. The waiver wire is obviously thin at this point, but as injuries mount and concerning matchups arrive, we must prepare for all scenarios. Again, bye weeks are over, but other factors will inevitably leave you scrambling for alternate options. We should note the streaming options aren’t particularly strong in Week 15, but since all teams are available, the necessity for them isn’t quite as high.
