NFL Network’s Steve Wyche reported Saturday that “every indication” suggests Allen (hip) will play Saturday. Chargers coach Anthony Lynn wasn’t quite as optimistic when he called Allen a “game-time decision” on Friday, but after getting in limited practices this week and having extra time to heal after the Chargers’ mini-bye, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Allen suit up....

Sure, we’re still looking at matchups and all the other factors you should weigh before making your final start-sit lineup decisions, but anytime you use players like Martavis Bryant, Ted Ginn Jr., Matthew Stafford, Dwayne Allen, and Christine Michael, you’re going for a home run and risking a goose-egg. Of course, if your team is decimated by bye weeks or injuries, sometimes you have to go with that all-or-nothing approach....

To be clear, we’re not advising last-place teams to make desperation trades and help out contending teams. No one likes that. If you’re 0-9, then you should probably stay out of things. But if you’re 3-6 and still have an outside shot at the playoffs, it can be fun to negotiate a trade and see which side wins. Even if your team ultimately falls short of making the postseason, you’ll stay engaged by tracking the results of your deal....

Let’s look at a few players with delicious playoff schedules you may want to consider trading for, as well as players who will be facing stiff competition in the coming weeks you may want to sell and players who may be just what you need to get you over that hump. As they say, if you fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail! Let’s go get that title!...
