It’s a bit of a bugger that two of the top four worst defenses against fantasy TEs play each other, especially since neither has had a trustworthy tight end for the past couple weeks - Vernon Davis (vs. Broncos) and Austin Traylor/Jeff Heuerman/Virgil Green (@ Redskins). Even though Davis could be worth a start, Traylor has no value. Better sleepers include Kyle Rudolph (@ Packers), Adam Shaheen (vs. Browns), Ricky Seals-Jones (vs. Giants), and Ben Watson (vs. Colts). Shaheen (chest) does have an injury to look out for, and unfortunately if he misses, Dion Sims isn’t a TE that can just be inserted to replace him.

For the most part, the tight ends fantasy owners have stuck to all year are in solid matchups, like Rob Gronkowski (vs. Bills), Zach Ertz (vs. Raiders), Travis Kelce (vs. Dolphins), Hunter Henry (vs. Jets), and Jack Doyle (vs. Ravens). Of course, Delanie Walker (vs. Rams) excels no matter the matchup lately, and Evan Engram (@ Cardinals) and Greg Olsen (@ Bucs) play teams that have been exploited by TEs before this season.

If you like narratives, our last sleeper choice is Jesse James against the Jaguars, a middle-of-the-road matchup. He could find the end zone this week if the Steelers want to stick it to the NFL and go crazy with James’ TDs. Just a thought. Either way, we hope your 2017 fantasy football narrative ends with a championship, and our Week 16 TE rankings will help you do just that.

Reminder: We’ll update our rankings throughout the week and add player analysis, so please check back often. And here’s how you could lose in fantasy in Week 16.
