While Matthew Stafford’s hand injury could really shake things up, matchups are the bigger worry. We still have Russell Wilson in the top 12 despite a date with the Jaguars (his legs can save him), but Ben Roethlisberger (vs. Ravens) and Cam Newton (vs. Vikings) have fallen out. The ultra-consistent Case Keenum (@ Panthers) is also outside the “starter’s tier” because of matchup, while Alex Smith (vs. Raiders) is on the outs because of his recent up-and-down play.
The fact these players aren’t in the top 12 shows just how deep the position is. Finding a good quarterback shouldn’t be a problem this week; rather, the dilemma might come from having to choose between two good ones.
