There is still a lot to be sorted out, at least from a legal standpoint, but Elliott is one step closer to sitting out. For Elliott owners, it might actually be better for him to immediately start sitting so he’s eligible to play when teams are in the fantasy playoffs.

Ezekiel Elliott suspension news: Who is the Cowboys’ backup RB?
Morris has been functioning as the Cowboys’ primary backup so far this season, as Darren McFadden still hasn’t seen the field. But if Elliott is out, McFadden could easily find himself in a timeshare with Morris since he’s a better receiving back.
Morris is still the better waiver wire pickup, but McFadden should also be added. Just two years ago he ran for over 1,000 yards for the Cowboys, so there’s still some potential there.
Obviously, neither has the value of Elliott, but Morris could still function as an RB2 if he’s getting 15-plus touches per game.
